  • In celebration of its 20th anniversary, genre-defying jazz ensemble Kenosha Kid returns home to Athens, GA, for a two-night stand at Hendershot’s. Known for its deep grooves, rich melodies, and fearless improvisation, the band will perform two full sets each night, drawing from a wide-ranging and ever-evolving body of work.

  • For two decades, Kenosha Kid has carved out a singular voice in modern jazz, and is now expanding its reach with a special series of performances and workshops across the Southeast.

  • Led by Athens-based guitarist and composer Dan Nettles, this anniversary tour features an all-star quintet. Marlon Patton (drums: Nashville) is a rhythmic innovator whose work with LiV Warfield, Lonnie Holley, and Jim White has earned national acclaim. Robby Handley (bass: Atlanta) is a key figure in Atlanta’s music scene, known for his work with Lera Lynn, Michelle Malone, and Larkin Poe. Jacob Wick (trumpet: Mexico City) is an exploratory voice in experimental jazz, featured on Bandcamp’s Best Experimental Music of 2024 for something in your eyes. Gregory Sinibaldi (baritone sax: Seattle) is a dynamic improviser whose collaborations include Gunther Schuller, Bill Frisell, and Cuong Vu.

  • Thurs Sept 18 – JoJo Glidewell’s CHEAP HEAVEN: Synth-ist JoJo Glidewell (Modern Skirts/of Montreal) presents a solo performance of improvised/generative music and debuts some compositions which were born in his attic studio, Sky Slaw.

  • Fri Sept 19 – Etienne deRocher’s KALIBRATOR: Haunted Shed frontman Etienne deRocher’s solo performance art project combining primitive analog synthesis with screwdrivers.
